Abstract
This paper analyses Ngugi Wa Thiong’o’s integrationist vision in The Black Hermit (1968) and Devil on the Cross (1982). In spite of the complexity of the relations between cultural representations, political practices, popular modes of political action, political imagination, in short, the Kenyan Marxist writer firmly believes in the integration of ideas, races, Languages, which he believed was the only panacea that could eliminate the specter of political tribalism in Africa and Kenya in particular.

Résumé
Cet article traite de la mise en texte littéraire de la vision intégrationniste de Ngugi Wa Thiong’o à travers ses œuvres de fictions The Black Hermit (1968) et Devil on the cross (1982). En dépit de la complexité des relations entre les représentations culturelles, les pratiques politiques, les modes populaires d’action politique, l’imaginaire politique, en bref, l’écrivain marxiste kenyan croit fermement en l’intégration des idées, des races, des langues des peuples, qui, selon lui, est la seule panacée susceptible de faire disparaître le spectre du tribalisme politique en Afrique et au Kenyan en particulier.
