Safara is an international peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Department of English of Gaston Berger University of Saint-Louis (Senegal). The journal publishes original research articles in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences, with particular emphasis on languages, literatures, and cultures from comparative, intercultural, and interdisciplinary perspectives.

Safara seeks to provide a scholarly platform for the dissemination of innovative research and critical reflection. The journal encourages contributions that explore linguistic, literary, and cultural phenomena across diverse geographical areas and intellectual traditions.

By fostering dialogue between African and international scholars, Safara aims to contribute to the development of global knowledge in the Humanities while highlighting the richness and diversity of cultural and linguistic expressions.

 
Aims and Scope

Safara aims to serve as an international forum for the publication and dissemination of high-quality scholarly research in the Humanities and Social Sciences, particularly in the fields of languages, literatures, and cultures.

The journal seeks to encourage rigorous academic inquiry and to promote critical dialogue between scholars from diverse disciplinary, cultural, and geographical backgrounds.

More specifically, Safara aims to:

• promote high-quality scholarly research in linguistics, literary studies, cultural studies, translation studies, and related disciplines;

• encourage comparative, interdisciplinary, and intercultural approaches that examine the interactions between languages, literatures, and cultures across different historical periods and geographical contexts;

• foster academic dialogue between African and international scholars, strengthening intellectual collaboration and scholarly exchange;

• highlight linguistic and cultural diversity worldwide, with particular attention to African languages, literatures, and cultural productions;

• provide a platform for both emerging and established researchers to publish original research articles and critical analyses;

• contribute to the open and free dissemination of scientific knowledge in the Humanities;

• engage with contemporary debates in the Humanities and Social Sciences, including topics such as identity, globalization, migration, postcolonial studies, gender studies, cultural memory, and digital humanities.

Safara welcomes contributions from scholars around the world and encourages submissions that offer innovative theoretical perspectives, original methodologies, or new interpretations of literary, linguistic, and cultural phenomena.
